We are in Week 2 of our Choose Healthy theme. Making healthy choices necessitates knowing how to compare food products based on their nutritional profiles. We understand, of course, that an apple is nutritionally superior to an apple muffin. But, what about cereals, granola bars, yogurts and, yes, muffins? How do we know which ones to choose?
Reading and comparing food labels – the nutrition facts and ingredient lists on packaged foods – is absolutely necessary if the goal is to choose the healthiest option among the many alternatives available for every packaged food product.
