In a month with the theme Boost Your Odds, as in boost your odds of exercising regularly, I would be remiss if I didn’t address the need for comfort while working out. For those who have difficulty sticking with a workout plan, even the seemingly small things, like the clothes you wear when exercising, can mess with adherence.
Wearing dedicated workout gear ensures sweat is wicked away from the skin, assisting the body’s natural cooling system. Throwing on a cotton t-shirt and sweatpants before a cardio workout will do the complete opposite. Damp cotton sticks to the skin, weighing us down and impeding the body’s cooling system. Overdressing can also impede joint movement. That difference in comfort level between the right gear and the wrong gear is huge when it comes to whether or not you show up for the next workout. And Ladies, the right workout bra is essential for comfort and prevention of long-term tissue damage of every exercising woman, no matter her size. Link to In Search of the Perfect Sports Bra to learn how to find the right one for you.
